Eighteen first-term governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress are meeting behind closed doors at the Kebbi State Government House.

The meeting, hosted by Kebbi State Governor Nasir Idris, has attracted journalists who are waiting for a briefing after the discussions. The governors attending are from Sokoto, Kaduna, Jigawa, Plateau, Delta, Ekiti, Taraba, Ondo, Ebonyi, Akwa Ibom, Edo, Benue, Kogi and Enugu states.

The gathering is expected to focus on issues affecting the governors and their respective states. Cross River, Niger and Katsina state governors sent apologies for their absence, and no details have been released on the outcome of the discussions as the governors continue their closed-door engagement.
