The National Working Committee of the All Progressives Congress, alongside senior party leaders, have met in Abuja to formally present Vice President Kashim Shettima as President Bola Tinubu's running mate for the 2027 presidential election.

The move follows months of speculation that President Tinubu could replace Vice President Shettima with a northern Christian as the party's vice-presidential candidate ahead of the 2027 polls.

Senior leaders of the All Progressives Congress at the meeting say President Tinubu has re-nominated Vice President Kashim Shettima as his running mate, with the party expected to make the announcement official during the gathering.
