The Chief of Army Staff, Waidi Shaibu, has called for stronger military cooperation among African nations to tackle terrorism, insurgency, and other cross-border security threats.

Speaking at the Third African Land Forces Forum in Port Harcourt, held alongside the Nigerian Army Day Celebration 2026, Shaibu welcomed military leaders from several African countries and stressed the need for unity, collaboration, and intelligence sharing.

He said the forum aims to strengthen interoperability among African armies, promote knowledge exchange, and develop coordinated responses to shared security challenges.
