House committee summons NSA Ribadu, Foreign Minister over controversial investment council probe

The House of Representatives Ad-hoc Committee investigating the controversial Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council has summoned the National Security Adviser to President Bola Tinubu, Nuhu Ribadu, to explain actions taken after his office was alerted to the activities of the unestablished council in October 2025.
The committee also requested the personal appearance of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, to provide further clarification on issues arising from the ministry's submissions.
The summons followed testimony from Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Dunoma Ahmed, who said the ministry reported the activities of the PFIPC and its self-acclaimed Director-General, Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi Matthew, to the Office of the National Security Adviser after identifying inconsistencies in documents submitted by the group.
Ahmed said Adeyemi approached the ministry three times, on June 26, 2025, August 5, 2025, and June 5, 2026, seeking support and endorsement for a proposed World Investment Summit in Nigeria. He said the ministry rejected the requests after due diligence and later wrote to the Office of the National Security Adviser on October 16, 2025, seeking clarification on the status of Adeyemi and the council.
