Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has received the teachers and pupils rescued after they were abducted from Ahoro Esienle and Yawota schools in Oriire Local Government Area.

Governor Makinde said the successful rescue was the result of collaboration between the Federal Government, the Nigerian Army and other security agencies, and assured the victims of the state government's support during their recovery.

He said the response to the Oriire abduction was unprecedented compared with similar incidents in other parts of Nigeria and noted that people across the country and abroad joined calls for the safe return of the teachers and pupils.
