The Minister of Power, Joseph Tegbe, has assured Nigerians that electricity supply will improve significantly before the end of 2026 as the Federal Government intensifies efforts to reform the power sector.

Speaking at the launch of the pilot phase of the Africa Mini-Grids Programme in Abuja, Tegbe said the government is taking difficult but necessary decisions to address decades of underinvestment and poor management in the electricity sector.

He noted that while the challenges cannot be resolved overnight, ongoing efforts to rehabilitate the national grid, expand off-grid power solutions, and attract investment into the sector will gradually deliver more reliable electricity to homes, businesses, schools and hospitals.

He appealed to Nigerians for patience, stressing that although the reforms would take time, the government remains committed to achieving sustainable improvements in electricity supply nationwide.
