The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, Bernard Doro, has called for stronger cooperation between the European Union and Nigeria to address humanitarian challenges and reduce poverty.

During meetings in Brussels with members of the European Parliament and EU officials, he urged sustained international funding and strategic partnerships as global humanitarian aid declines.

Doro presented Nigeria's One Humanitarian–One Poverty Response System, a new framework designed to integrate humanitarian assistance, social protection, and poverty reduction into a single coordinated system, saying the initiative aims to improve efficiency, reduce duplication, strengthen accountability, and help vulnerable people become more resilient.
