The Chief of the Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Idi Abbas, has reaffirmed the Nigerian Navy's commitment to improving the lives of Nigerians through community development projects across the country.

Vice Admiral Abbas stated this during the inauguration of an industrial solar-powered borehole in Muye Community, Lavun Local Government Area of Niger State.

Represented by the Director of Veteran Affairs at Naval Headquarters, Rear Admiral Raheem Toafiq, the Chief of the Naval Staff said the project was executed under the Nigerian Navy's Special Quick Impact Intervention Programme, reflecting the Navy's resolve to complement its core security responsibilities with projects that directly benefit local communities in line with the Federal Government's Renewed Hope Agenda.

Also speaking at the event, the Commandant of the Nigerian Navy War College, Rear Admiral Mohammed Muye, said the Navy remains committed to promoting humanitarian interventions that improve community welfare and strengthen civil-military relations.
