The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has announced its readiness to embark on a major national campaign for a comprehensive review of the national minimum wage.

Speaking at the inauguration of the Comrade Godwin Abumisi Pensioners Legacy House and Multipurpose Hall in Abuja, NLC President Joe Ajaero said the union would also push for the introduction of a national minimum pension to ensure retirees can live with dignity.

Ajaero argued that the rising cost of food, healthcare and transportation has made current pensions inadequate, describing it as unjust for retirees to live below the poverty line after years of service. He urged workers and pensioners to remain united and prepare for the coming struggle.
