Oriire Abduction: Governor Makinde explains reason for investigation into kidnapping

Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has explained that his call for the international community, particularly the United Nations, to investigate the abduction and rescue of teachers and pupils from three schools in Oriire Local Government Area was not intended to undermine the work of security personnel.
Speaking on Friday during the inauguration of a Judicial Commission of Inquiry at the Executive Chamber of the Governor's Office in Agodi, Ibadan, Makinde said the appeal was aimed at providing answers to key questions surrounding the incident.
The governor inaugurated an eight-member Judicial Commission of Inquiry to investigate the abduction of teachers and pupils in the Esiele and Yawota communities of Oriire Local Government Area. The panel is chaired by retired Court of Appeal Justice, Mojeed Owoade, with members including Jibril Ibrahim, Ayo Obe, Ngozi Onadeko, Abimbola Orogade, retired Major General Sanusi Muazu, and Folorunsho Osunrayi.
