Osun Governor Adeleke suspends NURTW activities, motor park levies over security concerns

Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has ordered the immediate suspension of all activities of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) in motor parks across the state as part of measures to restore order and strengthen public security.
Following a meeting of the Osun State Security Council chaired by the governor, Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Kolapo Alimi, revealed that the decision was reached after extensive deliberations on the security situation in the state and the need to restore order in motor parks.
Governor Adeleke directed the Nigeria Police Force and other security agencies to enforce the suspension, clarifying that the order does not include the closure of motor parks. The governor also suspended the collection of all levies in motor parks across the state and directed security agencies to arrest anyone presenting themselves as an official or executive of the union while the suspension remains in force.
