PFIPC DG calls for independent probe into council controversy

Adeniyi Adeyemi, who claims to be the Director-General of the disputed Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council, has called on President Bola Tinubu to establish an independent panel to investigate the controversy surrounding the organisation.
In an open letter to the President, Adeyemi said the panel should be independent and made up of multiple stakeholders to ensure neutrality.
He proposed including representatives of civil society organisations, independent media, international financial observers, human rights groups with the ICPC and EFCC serving as technical partners.
Adeyemi argued that the anti-corruption agency should not lead the probe because it is part of the government.
