Reps to probe ₦1.32bn allocation to alleged fake agency

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, is set to inaugurate an ad hoc committee today to investigate how ₦1.32 billion was allocated in the 2026 budget to the Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council, an agency that was never legally established.
The committee, chaired by Yusuf Gagdi, will examine how the agency was included in the budget, identify where the allocation was inserted during the budget process, and determine those responsible.
