The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has dismissed allegations linking President Bola Tinubu's Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, to the alleged fake Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council.

Wike said President Bola Tinubu acted appropriately by directing the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission to investigate the allegations, urging that due process be allowed to take its course and criticising calls by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and other opposition figures for the removal of Gbajabiamila before the investigation is concluded.

The FCT Minister also argued that the allegations lacked credibility, maintaining that the Office of the Chief of Staff neither creates government agencies nor prepares budgetary allocations.

Wike said claims that Gbajabiamila approved funds for an agency without legal backing were unfounded and intended to create public distrust in the administration.
