Katsina State Governor, Dikko Radda, has approved the release of four billion naira for the second phase of the Community Development Programme, CDP, to support grassroots projects across the state.

The State Commissioner for Information, Bala Zango, said the State Executive council approved several strategic initiatives focused on community development, women empowerment, education, economic reforms and improved public service delivery.

The CDP Programme Coordinator, Kamaladden Kabir, disclosed that each of the 361 wards in the state would receive ten million naira to execute projects identified and prioritised by residents. Kabir said the funding followed the success recorded during the first phase of the programme and would enable Community Development Committees to implement projects that address the needs of their communities.

He added that the initiative reflects Governor Radda's commitment to empowering residents to take part in decisions affecting local development.
