Nigeria has for the third consecutive month met and exceeded its OPEC crude oil production quota of 1.5 million barrels per day, with the latest data from the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission showing average crude oil production of 1.505 million barrels per day in July 2026.

With condensate production of 0.17 million barrels per day added, total daily output stood at 1.67 million barrels, while peak production reached 1.78 million barrels per day and the lowest level was 1.57 million barrels per day.

The NUPRC attributed the decline to operational challenges at the Erha and Akpo fields, which affected output during the month. It said production disruptions at the two fields contributed significantly to the reduction, although operations at most other producing assets remained relatively stable.
