President Bola Tinubu on Thursday met behind closed doors with governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

The meeting is part of ongoing consultations aimed at resolving controversies surrounding the party's 2027 Presidential Campaign Council list released on August 23.

The campaign council list has generated criticism over the inclusion of some party chieftains facing corruption-related charges, while some party members also complained that key stakeholders were not consulted before the list was released.

Reports said the list had been reviewed and that the initial version had been deleted from the party's official X account. A new list is expected to be released after President Tinubu gives final approval to the proposed changes.
