An election petition tribunal has dismissed a challenge against the outcome of a recent area council chairmanship election, ruling that the petitioners did not provide sufficient evidence of collation irregularities.

The tribunal chairman noted that witness testimonies presented during the hearing were largely inconsistent with documentary evidence tendered by the electoral body.

The declared winner has been sworn in following the ruling.
