Court orders forfeiture of more properties linked to ex-Minister Saleh Mamman

A Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered the forfeiture of five additional properties linked to former Minister of Power Saleh Mamman, who is serving a 75-year prison sentence.
Justice James Omotosho issued the ruling after considering an application filed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, ordering the permanent forfeiture of Walijam Apartments in Wuse Two, Abuja, after finding it was acquired with unlawfully obtained funds.
The court also granted interim forfeiture orders on Bloom Luxury Suites in Kaduna State, two mansions on Misratah Street, and A.U.A Plaza on Kade Street, both in Wuse Two, Abuja.
The judge ruled that while the EFCC had not sufficiently established the ex-minister's interest in the four other properties, the interim forfeiture would remain in place pending further proceedings.
