Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has rewarded Great Chinedu Okediachi with ₦20 million after the student won the World Spelling Bee Championship in Shanghai, China.

The governor announced the reward at the Government House in Asaba while receiving the championship trophy from the student alongside representatives of the Delta State Ministry of Secondary Education, saying the achievement reflects the success of Delta State's continued investment in education. He also pledged support for Madonna International School, where Okediachi is a student, in recognition of the school's role in the international success.

Governor Oborevwori noted that the latest victory adds to Delta State's growing record in global academic competitions, recalling that students from the state were part of Nigeria's winning team at the World Schools Debate Championship in Doha, Qatar, last year, saying the achievements demonstrate that the state's investment in education is producing results on the international stage.
