The newly appointed Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, Professor Segun Aina, has pledged to make the protection of the examination body's integrity his top priority.

He made the commitment on Friday during his formal handover ceremony at JAMB's National Headquarters in Bwari, Abuja, stressing that trust and transparency are essential to the credibility of the institution.

Segun Aina said integrity remains the foundation of every meaningful achievement at JAMB, noting that technological advancement and operational efficiency are only valuable when supported by public confidence. He explained that his administration would focus on building trust through responsible decisions and uncompromising standards, with the goal of ensuring fairness in the nation's tertiary admission process.

The new registrar also signalled a tougher approach to examination malpractice and admission-related fraud. Aina said JAMB would intensify efforts to identify and prosecute examination malpractice syndicates, impersonators, certificate forgers, cybercriminals and other individuals involved in compromising the admission system through the use of technology, intelligence gathering and stronger institutional oversight.
