The Inspector General of Police, Olatunji Disu, has warned political actors in Osun State against harbouring suspected criminals, saying intelligence available to the police suggests that some political parties are providing refuge for wanted suspects.

The IGP made the remarks during a visit to Governor Ademola Adeleke in Osogbo, where he disclosed that the Osun State Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Gotan, had informed him that some wanted suspects were allegedly being sheltered in the Government House. Disu said he had directed the commissioner to handle the matter in accordance with the law.

He also assured residents that the Nigeria Police Force would continue to work towards safeguarding lives and property across the state.

Responding, Governor Adeleke urged the police to arrest and prosecute anyone found to have committed a crime, irrespective of their political affiliation or status, stressing that no individual, including members of his family, should be shielded from justice if found culpable.
