Nigerian Army neutralized 102 terrorists in July

The Armed Forces of Nigeria says troops neutralised 102 terrorists and other criminal elements, arrested 345 suspects and rescued 393 kidnapped victims during operations conducted across the country in July.
Director of Defence Media Operations, Major General Michael Onoja, disclosed the figures on Friday during the monthly operational briefing at the Defence Headquarters in Abuja.
Major General Michael Onoja also said 57 insurgents surrendered to troops within the period, while personnel recovered 59 firearms and 1,811 rounds of ammunition from criminal elements.
Chief of Defence Staff, General Olufemi Oluyede, commended troops serving in various operational theatres for their professionalism and dedication, saying their efforts contributed to the successes recorded in July.
General Oluyede also reaffirmed the Armed Forces' commitment to protecting lives and property and sustaining operations against terrorism, kidnapping, secessionist agitation and other forms of criminality across the country.
