A two-storey building has collapsed in the Ajuwon area of Ifo Local Government Area of Ogun State, trapping an unspecified number of people beneath the rubble.

The collapse brought down two floors of the structure, while the topmost floor was left partially standing. Emergency response teams are expected to assess the site and begin rescue operations.

Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has ordered a comprehensive technical investigation into the collapse after one person has been confirmed dead following the incident. In a statement issued in Abeokuta, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Information and Strategy, Kayode Akinmade, reaffirmed the commitment of the state government to protecting lives and preventing similar incidents across the state.
