Over 40 suspected bandits killed as security forces repel Katsina attack

More than 40 suspected bandits, including eight senior commanders, have reportedly been killed after local hunters, the Katsina State Community Watch Corps and troops of the Nigerian Army's 17 Brigade repelled an attack on Guga Village in Bakori Local Government Area of Katsina State.
The attack, which took place on Sunday, reportedly began when more than 200 armed bandits stormed the community. Acting on intelligence received before the attack, local hunters, members of the Katsina State Community Watch Corps and soldiers mounted a coordinated response, leading to a fierce gun battle that forced the attackers to retreat with heavy casualties.
