Troops of Operation Hadin Kai, working with the Yobe State Hunters Group, have arrested five suspected kidnappers during an intelligence-led operation at Jegalari Village in Fune Local Government Area of Yobe State.

Acting Military Information Officer of Operation Hadin Kai, Lieutenant Colonel Mohammed Goni, said the operation was carried out on 23 July 2026 by troops of the 233 Battalion based at the Damaturu Military Cantonment following credible intelligence on the activities of the suspects. He said the troops recovered three locally fabricated AK-47 rifles, one locally made pistol, assorted ammunition and four mobile phones believed to be connected to the suspects' activities.

Goni said the suspects and the recovered items remain in military custody as investigations continue, adding that Operation Hadin Kai will continue intelligence-driven operations to deny terrorists and other criminal elements freedom of action across the North-East, while urging residents to remain vigilant.
